In this session, Hania Poole, Vice President of Business Operations, will explain how her team sets about creating immersive video experiences for college basketball fans each year.
As the Vice President of Business Operations, Poole oversees the content, operations, and product development for the NCAA Digital business, which includes NCAA.com, NCAA Sports App, the live coverage of all NCAA Championships and the continued management of NCAA March Madness Live. This also includes managing the day-to-day relationship with league partners at the NCAA. Poole reports to Mark Johnson, vice-president of NCAA Digital.
Most recently serving as the Senior Director of Product Management and Operations for March Madness Live, Poole has guided the team behind the suite of digital offerings to three straight years of unprecedented growth. This year, NCAA March Madness Live set all-time records with 80.7 million live video streams and 17.8 million hours of live video consumption during the 2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship. This year’s record-setting live video streams were up 17% over last year, with hours of live video consumption up 19% vs. 2014.
Prior to her role with NCAA March Madness, Poole served as Director of Business Operations for Turner Sports, focusing on emerging media partnerships for the company’s broad portfolio of leading sports properties – the NBA, NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, Major League Baseball and professional golf.
